Our workforce is experienced and committed. There's around 109,000
people living within the District and the working population just
over 34,000.
West Lancashire has an excellent industrial relations working
record and the diverse local economy has developed a broad base of
skills and an experienced workforce.
Value-for-money labour costs reflect lower-than-average living
costs.
We also offer customised training support from the Lancashire
branch of the national Learning and Skills Council and local
training providers and colleges, including Skelmersdale &
Ormskirk Colleges. We work together to ensure your business
develops the right people with the right mix of skills tailored to
your business needs.
Within the North West there are eight universities who deliver over
41,000 graduates each year.
As well as a further education colleges, West Lancashire offers
Edge Hill University whose undergraduate and vocational courses are
accessed by over 8,000 people every year.
