Health and safety at places of work, and involving work activities,
is regulated under the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act
1974.
Who to complain to...
If the workplace/work activity is in connection with any of the
following you should contact the Health & Safety Executive
(HSE) on 01772 836200:
- schools or education
- manufacturing, mines and quarries
- building sites
- peripatetic (in the street and at people's homes
- transport
- nursing homes
If the workplace/work activity is in connection with any of the
following you should contact West Lancashire District Council's
Commercial Safety Section on 01695 577177:
- office activities
- warehousing
- leisure
- residential care homes
- retail (shops and food premises)
- entertainment
- skin piercing
All health and safety matters concerning the Council's buildings
and activities as an employer should be directed to West Lancashire
District Council's Health and Safety Manager on 01695 577177.
