The Commercial Safety Team inspects workplaces on a programmed
basis and, as well as taking enforcement action where
appropriate, provides advice and education to
businesses.
Many accidents which occur in the workplace have to be reported to
the council by law and we investigate these to determine the cause
and to prevent them happening again in the future.
Health and safety training is offered to people in the West
Lancashire area to help them meet health and safety training
requirements.
We enforce Sunday trading legislation as well as inspecting
premises that require special licenses for skin piercing such as
acupuncturists and tattooists.
