Celebrating Lancashire's great local produceTaste Lancashire 08 logo

Taste Lancashire 08 (external link) is a year of food and drink to celebrate Lancashire's great local produce, in partnership with Liverpool's 2008 European Capital of Culture celebrations. To get involved and become a partner your business/organisation should be either award-winning, have a recognised accreditation or is committed to supplying quality Lancashire produce, as follows:

  • Eateries - should be Taste Lancashire accredited or have a Michelin or AA Rosette award
  • Pubs - CAMRA recognised
  • Producers - members of either Made in Lancashire or North West Fine Food and making Lancashire produce
  • Retailers - serving quality Lancashire produce
  • Others - includes Lancashire's local authorities

Taste Lancashire Quality Assured

Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board has teamed up with Made In Lancashire (external link) and Quality in Tourism (external link) to produce a new quality award scheme for eating establishments. The partnership recognises the importance of the food and drink industry to Lancashire, and has developed this scheme to give acknowledgement to those establishments who provide a consistently high quality eating experience.

Eating establishments can gain either of two awards:

  • Highest Quality Assured Award - given to eateries achieving over 80% in their assessment.
  • Quality Assured Award - given to eateries achieving 60-80% in their assessment
