UK Referendum on the voting system for the UK Parliament
A UK-wide referendum took place on 5 May 2011. This was
the same day as scheduled elections took place in
Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and some parts of England, and
the poll for the referendum was combined with the polls for
those elections.
This referendum sought the UK publics' views on whether the
system for electing MPs should change from First Past the Post to
the Alternative Vote.
