Make sure your new year is a creative one!
Make one of your New Year's resolutions to take up a creative hobby
and look no further than the West Lancashire Arts Directory for
inspiration.
Whether it's dance, music, visual arts or performing arts, the A-Z
publication will point you in the right direction.
It is the first time West Lancashire District Council has produced
a guide dedicated to the arts in West Lancashire and since its
launch last November it has been snapped up by lots of intrigued
residents.
So what better time than the start of 2008 to pick up a copy and
see what's available across the district to help you tap into your
creative side.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "At the start
of the year we all like to make resolutions to enhance our lives so
why not take a peek through our Arts Directory which could be just
the push you need to take up a new, exciting interest. Whether you
are wanting to join a new group, find out what activities are
available or looking for experienced facilitators to help develop
projects and arts activities - the directory should have the
answers."
The Arts Directory is available from the Council Offices at 52
Derby Street, Ormskirk, or the Customer Service Point in the
Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale, or pick up one from your
local library. Alternatively, contact the Gallery on 01695 571328
for a copy.
Please note that Chapel Gallery is closing to the public from
Monday 14th January until 19th April for a major
refurbishment.
Work will be carried out to extend the café, improve access
throughout the facility, new toilets and baby changing facilities
and bespoke lighting. New features will also include a family
activity monthly events programme.
Services such as the Saturday Art Club, holiday activity programme
and arts development service will still continue at various venues
