Double ceremony for Council staff
Staff who have each given 25 years or more valuable
service in local government or have achieved qualifications are to
be recognised at a special awards ceremony.
A total of nine employees from West Lancashire District
Council will be thanked for their dedication and commitment during
the Long Service Awards on Monday 27 April.
Between them they have managed to serve more than 225
years at local government level, which reflects their loyalty and
hard work.
They will join a number of Council employees who have
achieved qualifications in a variety of subjects including
business, team leadership, housing and facilities
management.
Cllr Iain Ashcroft, Portfolio Holder for Human Resources,
said: "We are very proud to have such a dedicated, hardworking team
of staff. To award nine people with long service awards reflects
their extreme loyalty towards local government and is a great
achievement in terms of recruitment and retention.
"Staff who have achieved qualifications should also be
congratulated for being able to further their skills within their
chosen career paths. At West Lancashire District Council we pride
ourselves in offering an extensive training programme and I’m
delighted that staff are recognising the benefits of taking on
further educational studies. Well done everybody."
