Hurry and submit your crime
questions!
If you want to make sure that your
concerns are answered at a special crime and safety meeting then
hurry and submit your question.
The first ever ‘Face the People’ event
is taking place on 18 March about fighting crime and the fear of
crime. It has been organised by the West Lancashire Community
Safety Partnership and gives people the opportunity to ask
crime-related questions.
All attendees who are interested must
submit in advance written questions on any topic for any partner
agency within the Community Safety Partnership to address on the
evening. Questions should be of a general nature and not specific
to individual circumstances.
There will also be an opportunity at
the end of the meeting for attendees to discuss any issues with
members of the Community Safety Partnership. This is in addition to
being able to ask questions relating to the presentations around
the ‘alcohol theme’.
Cllr Paul Greenall, Portfolio Holder
for Community Safety, said: "The Face the People event is an
important opportunity for local people to take part in lively
debates and raise issues that are a concern amongst the community.
However, I must stress that the meeting is not the place for people
to raise individual complaints or ask questions about issues of
personal interest but are of more a general nature. So make sure
you submit your question in advance."
The meeting, which will be chaired by
Bill Taylor, Chairman of West Lancashire Community Safety
Partnership, is on Wednesday 18 March, starting 7.30pm at Edge Hill
University’s Wilson Centre, St Helens Road, Ormskirk. A panel of
senior representatives from the District Council, Police, Fire,
Primary Care Trust and County Council will be on hand to meet the
public and answer questions. Dave Guest, BBC North West’s Social
Affairs Correspondent, will compere the event.
It’s a free, ticket-only event. To
reserve your free ticket or to submit a question, please contact
Jill Jones on 01695 585017 or email jill.jones@westlancsdc.gov.uk.
