TV star to make a guest
appearance at ‘Positive Women’s Day’ event
Businesswomen are being urged to do
something positive and sign up for an inspirational star-studded
event next month!
The District Council’s Enterprising
West Lancashire Team, who offer business support to new or
established entrepreneurs, is hosting a ‘Positive Women’s Day’ on
Thursday 12 March.
The event, which is free of charge, is
aimed at women who are thinking of starting up in business, own
their own company or work within a business and it promises to
motivate and inspire.
It has been organised to coincide with
International Women’s Week and includes a number of high profile
speakers who will be giving talks about how to be a success in the
current economic climate.
Marketing entrepreneur Carl Hopkins,
who was recently featured on Channel 4’s ‘Secret Millionaire’, will
be presenting a workshop on ‘branding’. Carl, who grew up on a
tough council estate on the outskirts of Leeds, used his own
determination and drive to get where he is today and will be
sharing his experiences to help others.
Also sharing her journey with the
audience will be Deirdre Bounds, a dynamic entrepreneur who went
from bedsit to exit in 10 years, selling her ethical travel company
for millions. She is living proof that business and personal
success is available to all, regardless of background, gender,
race, social class or disability.
Cllr Ian Grant, Leader of the Council,
said: "This promises to be an inspirational event that will help to
motivate new and established businesswomen. Guest speakers like
Carl and Deirdre are great examples of rags to riches people who
show how entrepreneurs can attract success, wealth and fulfilment.
They will be passing on their own secrets and experiences to help
others follow in their successful footsteps. Make sure you book a
place at the event now to avoid disappointment!"
The event is on 12 March at the West
Lancashire Investment Centre, Skelmersdale. Women who sign up for
the event will have the opportunity to participate in a range of
business or personal development workshops and network with other
like-minded businesswomen. Lunch will also be provided.
