Grants for older people's
groups
Older people’s groups are invited to apply for
cash hand-outs through a new grants scheme launched by West
Lancashire Borough Council.
Cllr May Blake, the Council’s champion for
older people, is inviting organisations that represent senior
citizens to apply for grants to support projects that will benefit
older people.
Grants of between £50 and £500 are
available to voluntary groups, non-profit making and community
organisations based in West Lancashire who work with or for elderly
people.
Cllr Blake said: “As Champion for
Older People in West Lancs, I am delighted to be able to launch
this new grants scheme. There are many organisations, large and
small, in all parts of the borough who might benefit from these
grants. A little money can go a long way and can really make a
difference to the lives of older people.”
Cllr Blake is also asking older
people’s groups to invite her to go to their meetings so she can
explain about the grants scheme and her champion’s role. She
said: “I am keen to get to know older people, and the
organisations they are involved with, in all parts of the borough
and would love to receive invitations to attend your meetings or
events.”
Please note that profit-making
organisations and public sector agencies are not eligible to apply
for a grant and that funding is not available to support religious
beliefs/political purposes.
