Community vote for their top three improvements to Halsall Park

Residents have voted for the top three improvements they would like to see at a local park in Ormskirk.

West Lancashire Borough Council has allocated £40,000 to spend on refurbishing the park on the corner of Halsall Lane and Cottage Lane and has been working with the local Residents’ Association and community to find out what type of facilities they would like to see.

Feed back from the local community identified three priority areas for enhancement:

  • Improved landscaping

  • Children’s play area (under 13yrs)

  • Additional park furniture

Councillor Andrew Fowler, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said:

"I’m delighted that residents took the time to fill in their questionnaires and give us their views on what improvements they would like to see in Halsall Lane Park. I would like to thank them for taking part in the consultation, as their views are important."

Although funding is limited the Council will be working with the local group to discuss design ideas that will incorporate their favourite suggestions.
