Local Offers - have your say
Have your say on the services offered to council tenants as West
Lancashire Borough Council publishes its draft Local Offers.
The council has always sought to listen to tenants and work to
ensure they are receiving a good level of service tailored to meet
their needs. Following the first tenants’ conference, the council
has worked with tenants and produced a draft list of Local
Offers.
Local Offers show how the council’s housing division will meet
both the national standards set out by the Tenant Services
Authority, the regulator for social housing, and service priorities
agreed with tenants’.
The offers will also strengthen tenants’ influence by giving
them more opportunities to make choices over the services they
receive and to have a greater say in how they are delivered and
monitored. These standards cover:
- Tenant involvement and empowerment
- Home
- Tenancy
- Neighbourhood and communities
- Value for money
Tenants attended workshops at the West Lancashire Investment
Centre in January to look at the draft Local Offers and discuss how
they would be monitored. A draft structure for tenant involvement
in this process was also agreed.
Working with staff and Marianne Hood, an independent
facilitator, they suggested some changes to the draft offers which
have now gone out to consultation. Tenants have been sent a special
edition of Home Front News detailing the draft offers.
Throughout February they will be invited to have their say by
contacting the council’s tenant participation team. For more
