More houses headed for West Lancs
The District Council is committed
to providing affordable housing for local people and it is paying
dividends.
With the help of our Housing
Association partners, there are 24 new properties scheduled for
completion in 2009 that will help some people find a new,
affordable home.
There will be 12 properties
available for shared ownership:
· 12 houses in Hesketh Bank
Shared ownership schemes allow you
to buy a share of a property, funded by a mortgage, and pay rent on
the remaining share you don’t own. This approach may help you to
get on to the property ladder and move into a property that you
could not ordinarily afford.
There will also be 12 properties
available for rent.
· 12 flats in Up Holland
The Council will have nomination
rights to the rented properties and will nominate applicants in
accordance with the Councils Housing Allocation Policy.
Cllr Val Hopley, Portfolio Holder
for Housing said: "The Council has made a commitment to providing
affordable housing and this new development is another example of
how we are delivering that promise to people in our communities.
These schemes will provide much needed homes for our district."
