Performance management
West Lancashire District Council is a provider of 'excellent'
services for our community.
Our vision is: "Putting customer services first - building a
community second to none". As an excellent Council our aim is to
strive for even further improvement to deliver the excellent
services West Lancashire deserves.
To achieve this aim, we have to make sure that our performance
is up to the mark.
- We know when we say we are going to do something you expect it
to be done.
- We know that if we are not performing well, you won't be
satisfied.
- We want to provide you with the best that we can.
- We want you to expect, and to receive the best service that can
be provided - and we want to provide it for you.
We do this by managing our performance. We have plans and strategies
in place which are intended to achieve our corporate priorities.
These plans and strategies contain the numerous tasks and targets
which, when completed successfully, will be the building blocks of
our success. If we have not achieved something we have set out to
do then we tackle it. We call this 'performance management'.
Performance management at West Lancashire DC works in a
controlled, open and visible structure which we call
the Performance Management Cycle.
