The code for Sustainable Homes is a national standard relating
to the design and construction
of sustainable new homes.
It provides a comprehensive measure of sustainability, ensuring
that new homes deliver real improvements in energy efficiency,
environmental performance and carbon emissions.
West Lancashire Borough Council supports developments meeting
Code level 3, as a minimum, and expects to see developers seeking
delivery in all areas of sustainability, in accordance with the
Local Plan.
The Council can provide code assessments, undertaken
by a qualified and fully licensed assessor. Whilst compliance with
the Code is voluntary at the current time, undertaking an
assessment will provide many benefits to both the developer and the
home buyer. We can also provide a pre-assessment estimator to give
an indication of the development's achievements.
- For more information on the Code for Sustainable Homes, what an
assessment includes and how we can help, please download our
information leaflet (Adobe PDF format,
72kb).
- Assessment costs will vary with the size of the development.
Please contact us initially with project details and we will be
able to provide a quotation to suit your requirements. A
fee schedule (Adobe PDF format,
22kb) is available for download.
