What the team does
As well as giving general advice to tenants and non tenants the
team also deals with estate and tenancy issues including:
- Enforcement of tenancy conditions, tenants rights and
responsibilities. For more information see the Tenant Handbook.
- Supported tenancies: housing related support, linked to a
network of agencies to enable vulnerable people - like the young or
old who need support, the homeless, people with learning
disabilities, mental health, or drug or alcohol problems - to live
more independently and maintain their tenancy. For more information
about supported tenancies, and what help is available, visit
Lancashire's Supporting People website. For information about the
Supporting People initiative visit the Department for Communities
and Local Government website.
- Anti social behaviour: the council's Anti Social Behaviour Team
tackles council housing crime, and nuisance or threatening
behaviour.
- Tenant participation: this supports existing Tenants and
Residents Groups and encourages tenants to get involved in having a
say about where they live.
- Estate maintenance and environmental improvements: The team
works closely with other divisions of the Council to improve the
environment.
