Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is a system
which allows officers to think about the service, policy, or
procedure they are managing or developing from the viewpoint of
different sections of our community. It prompts officers to
consider different people's needs and to make sure, that as far as
possible, these are catered for.
An EIA also prompts officers to identify the
potential negative impacts on sections of our community when
services, policies or procedures are at risk of being cut or
changed.
