Getting involved in housing

Tenant participation Ever wondered how decisions are made in the housing and property services division? Ever thought things could be done differently or improved?

If so then why not get involved and help us on our road to improvement!

We want to listen

We feel the best way to deliver a first rate service, is to talk to and listen to our tenants. It's our aim to provide an excellent service and to continuously improve by keeping our tenants involved every step of the way.

We know that changes and improvements to the service can be made. We want to work with our tenants as you are best placed to help us on this journey as the users of the services provided. It may be a long road ahead but by working together we feel that we will get to the finish line. As tenants, you will receive an improved service and be empowered to make a difference.

Why get involved?

People get involved for many reasons, these vary from:

  • Tackling community issues such as vandalism, tidying up the area or identifying a lack of facilities for children, young people or the elderly
  • Wanting to have a say about the way we deliver your housing service and improvements and maintenance in your home
  • A chance to meet neighbours and make new friends

Whatever reason you have for getting involved, you can make a real difference.

How to get involved

The Tenant Participation leaflet gives you more information on how you can get involved - from completing a survey, reading and commenting on our documents to attending a meeting.

You can find out more about our Tenant and Residents' groups and meetings by following the links below:

You can also provide your views directly to us by contacting us using the details at the bottom of the page.

Tenants making a difference

The new Tenant Involvement structure was agreed by tenants and Cabinet on 15 March 2011. This has introduced a number of new tenant groups and gives tenants a greater level of involvement and empowerment.

Don’t forget! There are a number of ways you can get involved and have your say, many of which can be done from the comfort of your own home.

You said, we did

We are always looking at ways to improve the services we provide to you and what better way to do this than by using your feedback. If you would like to see the areas you have helped to improve please follow the link below.
