Area Profile of West Lancashire 2005/06
The Area Profile of West Lancashire contains an extensive range
of information about the quality of life and services in the
District. The data comes from a variety of sources including the
2001 Census, Indices of Deprivation 2004, the local Primary Care
Trust as well as People's Panel survey results and the Audit
Commission's Local Quality of Life Indicators.

socio-economic classification of people living within West
Lancashire.
7. Health and Social Care - issues relating to
health and social care within the District, such as the number of
people with long-term illnesses, the number of people receiving
sickness benefit and life expectancy.
8. Education and Training - information and
statistics relating to the availability and attainment of education
and training within the District
9. Community Regeneration and Housing -
information regarding the regeneration of West Lancashire, the type
of housing available, the availability of affordable housing and
much more.
10. Natural Environment - including a look at
nature and conservation, the green belt and population density
11. Culture, Leisure and Sport - availability and
accessibility to culture, leisure and sport within West Lancashire,
for example the District's heritage, and the available facilities
within the District that encourage participation in culture,
leisure and sport activities
12. Transport and Access - reviews transport links
within the District, and how accessible public transport and areas
within West Lancashire are. It also provides useful information
relating to car ownership within the District, and the means by
which residents travel to work.
