Community Safety Partnership

The West Lancashire Community Safety Partnership is committed to
multi-agency problem solving and delivering balanced and
comprehensive solutions to tackling crime and disorder.
Every council in the country has its own Community Safety
Partnership - which is made up from five responsible authorities.
In West Lancashire this includes:
- West Lancashire District Council
- Lancashire County Council
- Lancashire Fire and Rescue
- Lancashire Constabulary
- The Primary Care Trust
- plus important contributions from other partner agencies
One of the partnership’s main aims over the last 3 years was to
achieve a 15% reduction in recorded crime - and we exceeded this
with a fantastic 23% reduction.
The partnership now has a new set of priorities and targets that
have been set out by the Government. These have a stronger focus on
more serious violence, with greater flexibility for partners to
deliver local priorities, reduce the fear of crime and increase
community confidence.
To meet this challenge the partnership has
produced its first Community Safety Partnership Plan. The new plan
replaces the 2005-2008 Community Safety Strategy and sets out a
framework to deliver our agreed local priorities.
