It's important to present your refuse and recycling for
collection in the correct way. This is to ensure that the borough's
streets are safe and clean.
You should put your bins, bags and boxes out at the
edge of your property or agreed collection point by 7.00am on
collection day. Please make sure they don't obstruct the
pavement.
If you don't present your waste correctly -
for example if you put it out too early or in the wrong place - you
risk receiving a Waste Receptacle Notice from our Street Scene
Officers.
A notice is a formal letter giving
advice on when, where, and how to present your household refuse. If
you repeatedly fail to comply with this notice you could receive a
fixed penalty notice of £100. If this is not paid, you could
be taken to court and could then be fined up to £1,000.

Protect your bins against theft and damage
The Council have received an increasing number of reports of
lost, stolen or damaged wheelie bins, many of which have been
discovered to be involved in dangerous, anti-social fires.
